For those who want to add more kilometers to their hike, you can combine it with an 8km route that runs along Malmedy. This route also starts at Route de Ferme Libert.
Hike through the breathtaking Trôs Marets valley
During the hike through the Canyon Trôs Marets, you will be amazed by the natural beauty of this area.
The route takes you along the winding river, which provides a spectacular view of the surrounding rock formations.
Along the way, you will come across various sights, such as the waterfall and a few viewpoints at the top of the hill.
The trail goes up and down a few times and leads you all the way into the valley until you reach the waterfall.
The narrow canyon, rough paths, and rock walls remind us of some hikes we did in the Dolomites in the past. And all of this in Belgium!
The mountain vibe is complete when we have to hold on to a tensioned cable in some parts of the trail to prevent us from slipping on these sections.
The trail is quite rough on these parts, interspersed with slippery rocks. When we did the hike, it was raining heavily, so you have to be careful on some parts. Despite the rain, it is a fantastic and beautiful hike!
On the other side of the trail, you can see the river cascading down several tens of meters below. These cables are not there for nothing, but they make the adventure on this hike even more beautiful.
This route is also highly recommended for trail runners. Due to some rough and slippery sections of the trail, it is not really suitable for people who are less mobile.
